Like dozens of other companies, Adobe has integrated its Firefly artificial intelligence model, previously in beta, into its flagship software. Users of Adobe Express, as well as Photoshop and Illustrator in Adobe Creative Cloud, now have access to features such as Text to Image, Generator Fill, text effects, 3D to Image, and image recoloring.

You can try out all of these features for free now, but to use them productively in existing Adobe software, you’ll have to pay in the future. To fully utilize the generative AI, each user is allocated 25 credits per month for free. To get 100 credits, you need to pay 5.53 euros per month. Thanks to the paid subscription, the user will get rid of annoying watermarks.

5 cents per image created

One credit has to be paid for the creation of each image, which is equivalent to about 5 cents. If you are not satisfied with the initial result, you have to click on the “Upload More” or “Refresh” button and a new image is created. But this costs another credit. However, this only applies to standard size images of 2000 by 2000 pixels.

In addition, existing and future subscribers to Adobe’s paid software receive a certain number of generative AI works per month, depending on the subscription. Anyone who pays for the entire Creative Cloud usage period with all apps will receive 1,000 credits per month.

To make it clear when images are distributed that they are not real but have been altered or created by artificial intelligence, Firefly by default adds content credentials to every image created with the tool. This data can be verified by third parties, according to Adobe.

The AI has generated more than two billion images since its launch last March. Adobe’s share price has also roughly doubled since then, representing a $180 billion increase in market value.
